About Thailand Living at the Gala
The team of “About Thailand Living” has been invited to a very remarkable event…
Having had such a marvellous night, it is of our great pleasure to share with you the night at the Charity Gala organized by the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce.
This important annual event this year with the theme “La Nuit de la Lumière” or the night light has illuminated a spectacular night with happiness and joy. Significantly, it has shown a deep relationship between French and Thai communities in the Land of Smile…
This exceptional evening named “French Excellence” demonstrated beautiful ladies with long glittered dresses and the gentlemen with their bow ties.
During the cocktail, guests were served with great champagne from Mumm, Ricard pastis, Chang beer, the famous macarons from Pierre Hermé, and food from Sofitel Hotel Sukhumvit—all of the Gala sponsor partners!
Our new French Ambassador, Mister Gilles Garachon began his speech by saying that for him and his wife, to live in Thailand is like a dream comes true. He recalled that France is the European country that has the longest diplomatic and friendly relationship with Thailand, which needs to be sustained particularly by the bilateral economic dialogue.
The opening dinner was initiated by the national anthem of Thailand, followed by la Marseillaise. Five hundred people participated in a respectful ceremony listening to the music of such highly symbolic, pure moment of emotion!
The show then was of a high quality; it took place before the astonished eyes of the spectators. Actors danced to the song of Jean Jacques Golman: “When the music is good”, the guests spontaneously and happily set to beat the rhythm; in a particular time which gave us the feeling just like being in France. Bravo for this elegant, refined and magical evening!
More importantly, the funds are for the association, “Green World Foundation,” which collaborates with scientists, youth, educators and agencies in Thailand to develop environmental and ethical awareness among local people on sustainable development.
Once again, big thanks to the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce. We had so much fun!
