Fully Vaccinated Air Travelers in Thailand No Longer Need to Undergo On-Arrival Tests from May 1
Thailand will no longer require a COVID test upon arrival, as the Southeast Asian country reverses some pandemic-era measures.
Travelers entering Thailand by air will be subject to new entry requirements beginning May 1, 2022, as follows:
For Fully Vaccinated Persons:
- Sign up for Thailand Pass.
- Include all required documents, such as a passport and vaccination certificate.
- Include proof of insurance with at least $10,000 USD in coverage for medical treatment in Thailand (for non-Thais only).
(The COVID-19 test is no longer required both before and after arriving in Thailand.)
For Unvaccinated Persons:
(Option 1 – Exemption from quarantine) Travelers who have received a negative RT-PCR test result within 72 hours of departure must:
- Create an account on Thailand Pass.
- Attach required documents, such as a passport and a COVID-19 RT-PCR test result obtained within 72 hours of travel (must attach on Thailand Pass only)
- Include proof of insurance with at least $10,000 USD in coverage for medical treatment in Thailand (for non-Thais only)
(No COVID-19 tests are required after arriving in Thailand.)
PLEASE NOTE: Travelers who have been approved for entry into Thailand under the AQ scheme but wish to enter Thailand under the exemption from quarantine must reapply on the Thailand Pass.
(Option 2-Quarantine) Travelers who are unable to obtain an RT-PCR test result within 72 hours of departure or wish to be quarantined must:
- Sign up for Thailand Pass.
- Include all required documents, such as a passport and a hotel reservation for 5 days in Alternative Quarantine (AQ) (including 1 RT-PCR test).
- Include proof of insurance with at least $10,000 USD in coverage for medical treatments in Thailand (for non-Thais only).
- Take an RT-PCR test on Days 4 and 5 in Thailand, during the mandatory 5-day quarantine at the AQ hotel.
PLEASE NOTE: Travelers who already have a Thailand Pass can travel with the issued QR Code and do not need to register for a new Thailand Pass.
REMINDER: Thailand Pass registration will begin on April 29, 2022. (Thailand Time, 00.01 hrs.)
