Fashion executive discovers her inner Tarzan
While many visitors find love in Thailand, 28-year-old Kate Connor has taken an unusual route by turning her life upside down after falling for a baby elephant.
She told the UK’s Daily Mail how she immediately burst into tears on encountering a baby elephant in an elephant conservation centre in northern Thailand.
‘I had never experienced love at first sight – until now,’ she writes.
Since this meeting, Kate has left behind her high-flying career in fashion to live a very basic life in the middle of the Thai jungle: ‘Because here – sleeping on the floor of a wooden hut in the Thai jungle that has become my home – is where I have found true peace, happiness and love.’
Kate now lives on her Thai husband’s daily catch of fish while caring for her two young children and the six elephants in her own elephant sanctuary.
However, her path to fulfillment has not been entirely smooth – to find out read her piece in the Daily Mail here.
