Klong Muang Beach – Krabi

Looking for a change of scenery and want to enjoy the peace of Thailand without being drowned by a crowd of tourists, we would like to recommend without hesitation Klong Muang. This almost deserted beach offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Andaman Sea and the surrounding coasts.

Located on the west coast of Krabi province, Klong Muang is still preserved from mass tourism and little known. What makes it unique? Its calm, its authenticity and its breathtaking sunsets. Klong Muang has also become the favorite beach of the most beautiful and prestigious 5-star hotels in the region: the Sheraton Krabi Resort, the Ritz Carlton, or the Sofitel.

The atmosphere of Klong Muang is calm. There are no nightclubs, shopping malls or busy nightlife here. If you want traditional tourism it will take you to the seaside resort of Ao Nang, 20 min drive.

What to do ?

  • Visit Koh Hong Archipelago

These small paradise islands (white sandy beaches and turquoise blue lagoons guaranteed) are located 25 km northwest of Ao Nang (not to be confused with the other Koh Hong in Phang Nga Bay). You can go on a ½ or full day excursion and Klong Muang is the nearest access point to reach these islands. The park can be visited by Long Tail Boat. Count between 1,700 and 2,000 THB. Note that it is also possible to make excursions to the surrounding islands: Koh Phi Phi, Koh Yao Noi, Koh Poda, Phra Nang Cave, etc.

  • Sightseeing

It is well known, Thailand has some of the most beautiful dive sites in the world. Some of the most popular are Koh Hong, Koh Yung Koh Poda and Hin Dang and Koh Rok Reefs. The water is crystalline, the visibility is often excellent, and the luckiest of you may be able to cross whale sharks or manta rays. Beginners or experienced, diving clubs take all levels of divers. You will find Aqua Vision’s Club in Klong Muang, and many agencies are located in Krabi or Ao Nang.

  • Tiger Cave Temple

This temple is not quite like the others, it must first climb 1,237 steps to reach it. But the game is well worth the candle because an amazing view awaits you! It is a 35-minute drive from Klong Muang.

  • Kayaking or Climbing

The province of Krabi is known for its hidden caves, small bays and islets easily accessible by renting a kayak. The area is also famous for being one of the most famous climbing centres: high rocks and fantastic panoramas attract climbers from all over the world. There are also many climbing schools.
