Cinema : “Thai Night 2017” at Cannes

From May 17th to May 28th hold the 70th edition of the “Festival de Cannes” in France. It gathered number of international celebrities. At the occasion of the traditional “Thai Night 2017”, the princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi, member of the royal family and thai cinema star, was here and presided the evening. .

On May 18th hold at the Festival de Cannes the Thai Night 2017 : Where Films Come Alive. This event was launched by the DIPT (Department of International Trade Promotion), the ministry of trade and the Royal Government of Thailand. It’s her Royal Highness the princess Ubolratana Rajakanya who presided this special night, which goal was to promote and support the thai cinematographic industry internationally. On the agenda, princess’s speech and broadcasts of thai movies.


The important attendance of the princess Ubolratana Rajakanya presiding this night is due to her fame in the thai film field. Aged 66, she is a busy princess and an actress at the same time. Eldest child of the late Rama IX and big sister of the actual king Rama X, she started her cinematographic carreer in 2008. Since then, she is a very important icon in this field and is very appreciated by her people and on an international scale. Her attendance to Thai Night 2017 was in no case anodyne. Strong of her image and of her reputation, she promotes thai cinema worldwide.

On the occasion of the Festival de Cannes took also place the “Thai Business Matching” from May 18th to May 22th. It’s a set of meetings and reunions organized in order to encourage exchanges between the international movie community and the nine principal companies which dominate the thai movie market. This way, the growing influence of this business can continue to develop itself.
