[Pattaya] Leisure Activities for the Whole Family (1)

Pattaya offers a host of leisure activities that will appeal to both children and adults. Whether during rainy days or hot weather; shopping, dining or relaxing there will please you.

There appear a new water park, Cartoon Network Pattaya, and a huge shopping mall, Central Festival Pattaya. The biggest international brands of cosmetics, shoes, and clothes are found there. Moreover, a little outside of town, Pattaya has the chance to host one of the biggest jewellers in the world.

For animal lovers, many wildlife parks are clustered around Pattaya. The largest is Khao Kheow Zoo where it is possible for the whole family to directly feed the elephants, giraffes, and even touch the tigers and snakes. Other animal parks such as a crocodile farm, the park in Sri Racha tiger, and Elephant Park are also reachable. Even more, you will also find a big aquarium in this city.

A seaside city…

Koh Larn Pattaya

Pattaya, tropical and warm if any city throughout the year, remains primarily a seaside resort with long kilometers of beaches. The top three are the Wong Amat beach, Pattaya beach Jomtien beach. Relaxing on a lounge while sipping some fresh coconut juice seems to be the main activity. Street vendors offer a range of fruit and seafood freshly caught.

Most enthusiasts find their happiness, not only bathing but also by practicing jet skiing, water skiing and, its latest variant, parasailing hung to a boat. In addition to the water park Pratumnak, a new water park to the theme of Cartoon Network was just opened in 2013 and is expected to become a major tourist attraction in Asia.

Pattaya benefits from several sheltered islands in the Gulf of Thailand. The best known is Koh Larn, accessible by ferry or, faster, by renting a private speedboat that will take only 15 minutes. Koh Larn is famous for its beautiful beaches and is a delight for divers due to its magnificent coral reefs. Koh Sichang, further north, Koh Pai and the two islands– Koh Krok and Koh Sak are also accessible and quieter than Koh Larn.

In Pattaya, different sports are available throughout the year starting with the classic tennis, bowling, squash, badminton, jogging and golf. Motor sports are well represented with kart tracks, bike track, buggy or quad excursions. A bungee jumping is also worth it a try. Not far from Pattaya, there is a famous tree climbing adventure park called Flight of the Gibbon where children and adults can join in activities, like a monkey twirling from one tree to another.
