[Phuket] Center and East of the islands of Phuket…Ao Po, Thalang, Yamu, Panwa, Phuket Town

Thalang

Thalang

Thalang

Thalang is a small town in the northern part of Phuket. Chief town of one of the three districts, Thalang enjoys an ideal location on the island due to its centralization. Located on the route of the highway that crosses the island from north to south, all the attractions and the beautiful scenery of the island are easily reachable. For example, Thalang is located in five kilometers from Surin Beach, one of the most beautiful on the island, and 20 kilometers north of Phuket Town on the expressway and 10 km south from the airport.

The location in Thalang and its relative proximity to all the most beautiful beaches of the west coast have made this small town a favourite to many people. For instance, the development of condominiums (condominium) and residential tranquillity. Furthermore, the central location of Thalang ensures proximity to major golf courses on the island.

In addition, Thalang National Museum covers the history of Phuket from prehistory to the present day. This small town is also home to the revered statue of the two heroines of the island, Thao Thep Kasattri and Thao Sri Sunthon, who saved the island from the Burmese invasion in 1785.

A famous island temple is located in Thalang, Wat Phra Thong. Its uniqueness comes from the main Buddha, covered in gold leaf and half-buried, leaving him only the visible bust. This is one of the oldest temples of the island.

Kathu

Kathu, located in the center of Phuket Island, enjoys an exceptional situation. Indeed, Kathu is less than 5 kilometers

from Patong Beach to the west and less than 10 km from the downtown Phuket.

Staying in Kathu allows you to enjoy all the sea activities and the lively nightlife of Patong without suffering the disadvantages. Starting east from Kathu, we can also appreciate the presence within 5 kilometers from the Bangkok Phuket Hospital, Phuket International Hospital, and Central Plaza Phuket. Plus, there are vastly modern shopping centers with several restaurants, Kathu Waterfall Phuket supermarket, boutiques and cinemas.

Beyond its location, Kathu makes it very easy to reach the main attractions of the island. Surrounded by the nature, Kathu Waterfall is considered the most beautiful island. In addition, three golf courses are mainly located in Kathu; namely Red Mountain Golf Club, Loch Palm Golf Club, and Phuket Country Club.

Panwa

Panwa

Panwa

Panwa is located in the extension of Chalong Bay, southeast of the island and just a few kilometers from Phuket town. Cape Panwa, which makes the fame of this region, is located at the end and provides some small shelters among the prettiest beaches of the east coast, including the Aon Yon beach. Located near the Cape, there appear a number of luxury hotels and villas with direct views of the sea, well clinging to the hillside.

Panwa is actually much quieter than other parts of the island. We find some interesting attractions, including the largest aquarium on the island. Not far from the cape, the Phuket sailing school is also found in this area,… like the French consulate.

One of the most striking views of Phuket can be assessed from the viewpoint of Khao Khat. From the top of the hill offers Chalong Bay, surrounding by islands and Cape Panwa.

Yamu

The small peninsula Yamu is located 15 kilometers north of Phuket Town, the eastern part of the island. This small piece

of land that seems to extend into the sea sees his side increases in later years and attracts investors. The tranquillity, beauty, and relative autonomy of this peninsula– far from the tourist bustle of the west coast, give indeed a significant added value to Yamu.

Developers have decided to invest the scene by offering high-end projects that blend into the scene so that Yamu can keep its charm. The view of Cape Yamu, Allana and Baan Yamu are, so far, among the most successful projects.

Ao Po

Ao Po

Ao Po

Ao Po is a unique place in Phuket. On the part of the island, Ao Po has become a mecca for lovers of Lesao po sea. Marina was created to accommodate sailboats and yachts measuring up to 80 meters in length!

In addition to the unique luxury facilities of this marina, Ao Po enjoys a quiet scene thanks to its location in a part of the island where tourists are not rushing. Beyond the marina, the overall project includes a gourmet restaurant, a 5-star hotel, and the construction of several luxury residences in a unique setting by the sea.

The situation in the northeast of the island of Phuket gives privileged access to travel by boat to the beautiful Phang Ngai. Additionally, the marina is not so far from the three islands that have become almost deserted, just waiting to be explored.

Phuket Town

Phuket Town

Phuket Town

The city of Phuket or Phuket Town is the largest city and the commercial, social, cultural, and political reputation of the island. Located in the southeastern part of the island, Phuket Town offers an amazing blend of old and new, of simplicity and sophistication, tranquillity and entertainment.

Being the commercial capital of the island, one can find in Phuket the ultramodern weekend-market shopping center (Central Plaza), supermarkets with European standards (Tesco) and a range of traditional Asian markets. As a tourist capital of the island, there are three biggest hospitals located, i.e. Phuket International Hospital, Bangkok Hospital Phuket and Vachira Phuket Hospital).

Phuket town also has its tourist assets. Its town center with its mansions to the Sino-Portuguese architecture is extremely unique. The old Phuket mentality can be expressed at every street corner, in shops of arts and crafts, with these fruit and vegetable sellers or its small Thai and Chinese temples.

By taking up the hill from Rang Hill, the view can be appreciated on the entire metropolitan area and throughout the south of the island. In addition to having an amazing view, this hill offers some good restaurants and a Buddha statue with 9 meters height.

A few hundred meters north of Phuket town, in the direction of Thalang, we find the Phuket Boat Lagoon; the oldest marina on the island. With almost 400 luxury villas located right next to the boat, its 350 berths can accommodate yachts up to 35 meters long. This marina is one of the most important yachting center in Asia.
